Mobile Tyre Punch Cutter

The mobile tyre punch cutter of the range – the Eagle tyre punch cutter II, is designed to split off-the-road (OTR) tyres in half, by cutting through the centre of the tread. It accommodates various tyre sizes, ranging from 39 inches in rim size and 37 inches in tread width up to a 14-foot diameter OTR tyre. The cutter offers both manual operation and an automatic punching mode, enabling it to split tyres without direct supervision.

 

The machine makes cuts of 5-6 inches at a time using a 10 inch blade. It operates on a turntable that rotates the tyre, allowing it to make precise splits. Once the tyres are halved, they can be further sectioned by the Titan II. For a 12 or 14 foot tyre, the Punch Cutter II can complete the splitting process in about 10-12 minutes.

 

This equipment is crucial for handling the substantial thickness of rubber found in some OTR tyres, such as the 70/70/57 models, which have up to 14 inches of solid rubber in the shoulder.
