The Saturn Grizzly range from Granutech-Saturn Systems provides heavy-duty secondary grinding and granulation for tyre recycling operations looking to process pre-shredded tyres into smaller, cleaner and more consistent rubber fractions.
Designed to operate downstream of primary tyre shredding, the Grizzly uses a single-rotor cutting system to further reduce tyre material while liberating embedded steel. This creates a more uniform rubber product, improves magnetic separation and prepares material for further granulation, refining or end-market applications. Granutech-Saturn reports that this mid-stream processing can consistently produce rubber better than 95% free of steel.
From TDF to Higher-Value Rubber Recovery
Primary shredding to produce TDF is only the beginning of the tyre recycling process. As markets develop for recovered rubber, further processing can transform tyre material into rubber crumb for use in new products, creating higher-value recovery pathways and supporting greater circularity for end-of-life tyres.

Proven Tyre Grinding
The Saturn Grizzly Model 80 (M-80) is a heavy-duty tyre grinder/granulator designed to further reduce shredded tyre material while liberating steel from the rubber fraction.
Its completely hardfaced rotor incorporates a star rotor design with 50 rotary knives working against 10 stationary knives. The Model 80 combines this cutting arrangement with replaceable screens to provide controlled material sizing and reliable secondary tyre processing.

Saturn Grizzly Super 80

High-Throughput Secondary Tyre Grinding
For higher-volume tyre recycling operations, the Saturn Grizzly Super 80 (S-80) provides increased power, torque and processing capacity.
The Super 80 is a high-performance secondary grinder designed specifically for high-throughput tyre recycling.
The Super 80 uses an 80-inch hardfaced rotor fitted with 80 rotary knives working against 17 stationary knives. A two-piece screen design provides a large screening area, while the serrated knife arrangement, higher-capacity gearbox and 400 HP drive provide the capacity required for demanding continuous tyre processing.
Optional configurable screens produce smaller, more consistent material to support downstream processing.

Improve Steel Liberation & Rubber Quality
One of the key roles of the Saturn Grizzly is not simply making tyre material smaller. It is creating the conditions required for more effective rubber and steel separation.
As tyre chips pass through the grinder, further size reduction helps liberate embedded tyre wire. Producing a smaller, more uniform fraction also improves the effectiveness of downstream magnetic separation.
Grizzly grinders can produce rubber consistently better than 95% free of steel. The resulting cleaner material entering downstream granulation can increase granulator blade life by as much as 300%, depend on the application and system configuration.
