Available in Australia through Waste Initiatives’ Vertech range, Granutech-Saturn equipment provides the downstream processing stages required to take tyre-derived material beyond primary shredding and TDF production. Integrated after primary tyre shredding systems, Saturn grinders, granulators, powderizers and refiner mills progressively reduce material while supporting steel separation and controlled rubber sizing.

From TDF to Higher-Value Rubber Products
Primary shredding to produce TDF is only the beginning of the tyre recycling process. As markets develop for recovered rubber, further processing can transform tyre material into rubber crumb for use in new products, creating higher-value recovery pathways and supporting greater circularity for end-of-life tyres.
For operators looking to move beyond TDF and produce higher-value recovered rubber products, additional size reduction, liberation and separation stages are required. Saturn Granutech specialises in this downstream processing.
Saturn Grizzly grinders and granulators process pre-shredded tyre material to create smaller, more uniform rubber while improving the separation of embedded steel. Further processing through Saturn Powderizers and Refiner Mills can then reduce clean rubber into increasingly fine granulate and powder.
This staged approach allows processing requirements to be matched to the intended downstream market rather than simply reducing tyres to the smallest possible size.
A Natural Extension to Barclay Tyre Shredding
Within the Waste Initiatives tyre recycling range, Barclay provides the primary shredding technology, processing whole tyres and producing TDF and controlled-size tyre chip.
Granutech-Saturn extends the process downstream.
By adding Saturn grinding, granulation and refining equipment after primary shredding, tyre recyclers can progress from shredded tyre material toward cleaner, more tightly controlled rubber fractions suitable for higher-value recovery applications.
Saturn Grizzly Grinders
The Saturn Grizzly range is designed specifically for the mid-stream processing of shredded tyre material.
Using single-rotor size-reduction technology, the Grizzly further reduces tyre chips while helping liberate steel from the rubber. Producing a smaller and more uniform feed also supports improved downstream separation and processing performance.
Granutech-Saturn states that the Grizzly process can produce rubber that is consistently better than 95% free of steel, while cleaner material can also significantly improve the performance and wear life of subsequent granulation equipment.

Saturn Grizzly Tyre Grinders
The Saturn Grizzly tyre grinders and granulators provide heavy-duty secondary processing of pre-shredded tyres, further reducing material while liberating embedded steel. Available in Model 80 and high-throughput Super 80 configurations, the range produces cleaner, consistent rubber fractions ready for separation, granulation and further refining.
